Breton

Breton is a London-based indie music collective rooted in D.I.Y. culture and experimental audio/visual creativity. Founded by Roman Rappak and Adam Ainger in 2007, the group expanded with Ian Patterson and Daniel McIlvenny, establishing BretonLABS in a South East London warehouse. Apart from crafting their own urban-electronic and dub-influenced rock music, the band engaged in various collaborations, from remixing artists like Tricky and Lana Del Rey to directing music videos for acts such as Penguin Prison and Newlsland. This collaborative ethos defines their artistic approach, evident in their early EP releases and debut LP, Other People's Problems, under Fat Cat Records.

After their London space was slated for demolition in 2013, Breton relocated to Berlin to create their sophomore LP, War Room Stories, released in early 2014. The band's move to Berlin marked a shift in their creative process, reflecting their commitment to multimedia experimentation and boundary-pushing soundscapes. Despite a busy touring schedule, Breton maintained their prolific output, releasing multiple EPs and solidifying their reputation as innovators in the indie music scene.
