Breakdown of Sanity, a Swiss extreme metal band formed in 2007, blends breakdown-heavy metalcore, post-grunge, and nu-metal. The lineup consists of guitarist/songwriter Oliver Stingel, vocalist Carlo Knöpfel, bassist César Gonin, drummer Thomas Rindlisbacher, and guitarist Christoph Gygax. They independently released The Last Sunset in 2009, followed by [MIRRORS] (2011), Perception (2013), and Coexistence (2016), with singles Traces (2020), Black Smoke (2021), and Collapse (2023) post-2020.
