Brandon Flowers, frontman of the Killers, led the new wave revival in the early 2000s, drawing inspiration from '80s synth pop bands like New Order and the Psychedelic Furs. Raised in the Southwest, Flowers found his musical footing in Las Vegas, forming the Killers with guitarist Dave Keuning in 2002. The band's debut album in 2004 propelled them to international fame, blending synth-driven sounds with a nod to heartland rock.
