Biography

Book of Love, a synth pop group from Philadelphia formed in 1984, quickly became dance club favorites in the '80s. Comprised of Susan Ottaviano, Ted Ottaviano, Jade Lee, and Lauren Roselli, the band's infectious sound and catchy hits like "Boy" and "I Touch Roses" propelled them to success. Book of Love's self-titled debut album in 1986 showcased their unique feminine perspective in a predominantly male-led electronic music scene, earning them a spot on the dance and college charts.

The band's collaborations with renowned artists such as Depeche Mode and their bold approach to tackling societal issues in songs like "Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls" set them apart. Despite disbanding in 1993, Book of Love left a lasting impact on the music scene, with a retrospective album, I Touch Roses: The Best of Book of Love, released in 2001 to celebrate their legacy.
