Bokaloka

Formed in 1994 as "Água na Boca," Grupo Bokaloka consisted of Renatinho (vocalist), Toninho Branco (cavaco), Leandro Sapucahy (pandeiro), Layse Sapucahy (percussion), Robinho (drums), Pedro Py (keyboard), Marcelo Maggiver (bass), and Bidú (surdo). They released their debut album "Você Vai Se Amarar" in 1997, featuring the hit single "Mais Uma Chance," followed by the 1998 release "Apaixonado" with popular tracks "Apaixonado" and "Shortinho Saint Tropez." In 1999, now officially known as Bokaloka, they dropped their third album "Duas Paixões," highlighted by the title track that became a staple in Brazilian pagodes.

Tragically, in January 2023, vocalist Renatinho Bokaloka passed away from a heart attack during a performance, fulfilling his dream of seeing his son João Pedro carry on his legacy. João Pedro, along with Toninho Branco (cavaco) and Davi Bessa (violão), continued Bokaloka's journey, releasing the tribute project "De Pai Pra Filho" in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, João Pedro plans to unveil new original music and projects for the group.
