Bloodstone

Bloodstone was a pivotal group that transitioned from R&B and soul of the '50s and '60s to the funk influences of the '70s. Originating in Kansas City in 1962 as an a cappella doo wop group called the Sinceres, they later evolved into a band in Los Angeles, developing a signature sound blending vocal harmonies with Hendrix-inspired guitar work and percussion. The group achieved success with their debut single "Natural High" in 1973 under the Blue Horizon label in London, leading to five albums produced by Mike Vernon and various chart-topping hits.

Despite their initial success, Bloodstone faced challenges and lineup changes over the years. The original trio of Harry Williams, Charles McCormick, and Donald Brown continued performing live, releasing albums like Now!...That's What I'm Talkin' About in 2004 and Forever Christmas in 2017. The group's legacy as pioneers of funk and soul music endures, with their impact on the music scene lasting for decades.
