Biography

Blondie, formed in New York City in August 1974 by singer Deborah Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, emerged from the punk/new wave scene of the late '70s. The band's lineup evolved over the years, with key additions including drummer Clement Burke and bassist Gary Valentine. Blondie's breakthrough came with their third album, Parallel Lines, released in September 1978, featuring hits like "Heart of Glass" and "One Way or Another."

Following a period of individual projects, Blondie regrouped in 1998 for a European tour and released a new album, No Exit, in 1999. Subsequent releases, including The Curse of Blondie in 2003 and Pollinator in 2017, showcased the band's enduring influence and collaborations with artists like Charli XCX and Johnny Marr.
