Björn Skifs

Swedish singer/songwriter Björn Skifs had a long and successful recording career that began in the 1960s and continued into the next century. His biggest hits include Swedish Top Five tracks like "Firefly" and "Lady," as well as the American chart-topper "Hooked on a Feeling" released under the band Blue Swede. Skifs also competed in the Eurovision Song Contest twice on behalf of Sweden in 1978 and 1981. After a hiatus in the late '80s, he made a successful comeback with albums like Back on Track (2001) and Decennier (2005), which both topped the Swedish albums chart.

Born in Vansbro, Sweden, on April 20, 1947, Skifs started his career in the band Slam Creepers before going solo. Despite initial solo albums like From Both Sides Now and Every Bit of My Life not gaining much traction, Skifs found success with the band Blåblus, later known as Blue Swede. Hits like "Hooked on a Feeling" propelled him to international fame. Skifs continued to release popular albums like Watch Out! and Decennier, with several reaching the top spots on the Swedish albums chart.
