Big Business

Big Business, a two-piece band from Seattle formed in 2003, blends metal, grunge, and indie rock influences to create a massive, hard-hitting sound. Comprised of bassist and singer Jared Warren and drummer Coady Willis, the duo uses keyboards for melodies instead of guitars, delivering a monolithic approach with a sense of thematic grandeur. Despite briefly adding a guitarist for select albums, including 2009's Mind the Drift and 2013's Battlefields Forever, they returned to their original duo format for the release of Command Your Weather in 2016 and The Beast You Are in 2019.

After releasing their self-titled demo in 2004, Big Business signed with Hydra Head Industries for their debut album, Head for the Shallow, in 2005. Following a move to Los Angeles in 2006, Warren and Willis became part of fellow musician Dale Crover's band, the Melvins. The duo's evolution included a trio formation with the addition of guitarist/keyboardist Toshi Kasai for Mind the Drift in 2009, followed by guitarist Scott Martin joining for Battlefields Forever in 2013. Returning to their original two-piece setup, Big Business continues to deliver their heavy, expansive sound in their later releases.
