Benito di Paula

Benito di Paula, known for his unique samba style characterized by elaborate attire and emotive piano performances, is considered a pioneer of the "sambão-jóia" genre, a precursor to modern pagode romântico. With a successful discography and compositions recorded by international artists, such as Paul Mauriat, di Paula's career also includes composing for popular TV soap operas and hosting the acclaimed music show Brasil Som 75. Starting as a local crooner in Nova Friburgo, di Paula's journey led him to Rio de Janeiro and eventually São Paulo, where he formed his first group and signed with Copacabana. His third album, Um Novo Samba, featuring hits like "Retalhos de Cetim," propelled him to commercial success and international performances in countries like Mexico, Japan, and the U.S.

Di Paula's rise to fame was marked by hits like "Violão Não se Empresta a Ninguém" and "Meu Amigo Charlie Brown," as well as collaborations with renowned artists like Roberto Carlos.
