Born to music legends James Taylor and Carly Simon, Ben Taylor initially did not plan to follow in his parents' footsteps. Despite growing up surrounded by music, he initially pursued interests in gardening and farming. However, a trip to the Caribbean inspired him to embrace music, leading to the formation of the Ben Taylor Band and a successful music career. Throughout the years, Taylor released several albums and EPs, showcasing his talent as a singer-songwriter.

After a humble start with a cover of the Beatles' "I Will" on a movie soundtrack, Taylor's musical journey took off when he formed a band in Los Angeles and signed with Iris Records. With the guidance of musician Kevin Bacon, Taylor released albums like Famous Among the Barns and Another Run Around the Sun, solidifying his place in the industry. His later works, including The Legend of Kung Folk, Pt. 1 and Listening, further showcased his evolution as an artist and songwriter.
