Bareto

Formed in 2003, BARETO is a Peruvian band initially influenced by Reggae and Ska before shifting focus to Amazonian cumbia, chicha, and psychedelia while retaining their original influences. Their 2008 album "CUMBIA" catapulted them to immense popularity in Peru, making them one of the country's most beloved alternative bands.

BARETO is known for reimagining traditional Peruvian cumbia hits like "Cariñito" and "Quiero Amanecer" with their unique style, becoming key players in the Peruvian cumbia movement of the late 2000s and continuing to be revered for their iconic songs across the country. The band's international success includes performances at renowned world music festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe, as well as Grammy nominations in 2013 and 2015, solidifying BARETO as a leading force in contemporary Peruvian music both at home and abroad.
