Biography

Baio, known as the bass player for Vampire Weekend, launched his solo project with the stylish synth pop album The Names in 2015. His latest release, Dead Hand Control in 2021, features tracks with varying lengths reminiscent of 1980s dance mixes.

Originally from New York, Baio developed his music interest early on, eventually forming Vampire Weekend while attending Columbia University. The band gained popularity for their unique sound and lyrics, signing with XL Records and releasing successful albums. Baio's solo work under the name Baio began in 2015, with subsequent albums influenced by global events and personal experiences.
