Formed in 2004 following Pete Doherty's departure from the Libertines due to drug use and erratic behavior, Babyshambles quickly established themselves with a self-titled debut 7". The band faced ongoing turmoil, including lineup changes and Doherty's legal troubles, as they worked on their first album with producer Mick Jones. Despite canceled shows and Doherty's wild behavior, Babyshambles released their debut album, "Down in Albion," in 2005 and continued to tour, leading to subsequent releases under major labels EMI and Parlophone.
