Axel Tony, with Cameroonian and mixed Martinique-Vietnamese heritage, emerged in the Afro-Caribbean music sphere. Beginning as a chorister for Diam’s and Kery James, he later asserted himself with the release of his debut solo single "Les Feux de l'Amour" in 2011, establishing him as a prominent zouk artist of his generation. His subsequent hits like "Ma Reine" and "Pause Kizomba" earned him a nomination for "Francophone Revelation of the Year" at the 2013 NRJ Music Awards.

His 2013 album "Je Te Ressemble" went Gold in 2014, featuring the track "Avec Toi" with Tunisiano, solidifying his presence in the pop-urban scene.
