Atlanta Rhythm Section

Originating from Doraville, Georgia in 1970, the Atlanta Rhythm Section emerged from the remnants of local bands to form a session group at Studio One. With members like Rodney Justo and Barry Bailey, the band transitioned from studio work to become a full-fledged band. Spearheaded by manager Buddy Buie, the band's early instrumental demos led to a record deal and eventual success with hits like "So Into You" and their highest-charting album, Champagne Jam.

Despite initial success, the Atlanta Rhythm Section faced declining album sales in the early '80s, leading to their eventual split. They reunited periodically for tours, releasing their first new studio album in 1999. Their influence extended to notable country-rock artists who covered their songs. Tragically, guitarist Barry Bailey passed away in 2022, while keyboardist Dean Daughtry passed in 2023.
