Biography

Atif Aslam, a college student at the time, founded the rock band Jal and self-funded the recording of their popular single "Aadat." Several tracks from his solo debut album, "Jal Pari," were featured in the independent film "Man Push Cart," including a rendition of the hit song "Aadat." Aslam gained recognition in Bollywood after his success with "Aadat" led director Mahesh Bhatt to invite him to record a track for the film "Zeher."

Primarily known for his work as a playback singer in Bollywood, Atif Aslam has recorded vocals for numerous film tracks. Notable collaborations include recording two songs for the film "The Reluctant Fundamentalist," where he shared vocals with Peter Gabriel.
