Biography

The Artifacts, a throwback hip-hop duo from Newark, NJ, embody the essence of true hip-hop culture with their focus on MCing, DJing, and graffiti writing. Their debut single "Wrong Side of The Tracks" in 1994 showcased their Jersey rap tradition, while their debut album, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, solidified their B-boy stance. However, their 1996 follow-up album, That's Them, struggled to stand out amidst the rise of gangster attitudes in hip-hop, leading to the duo's eventual split in 1997. Despite this, Tame One and El the Sensai continue to release music as solo artists.
