Biography

Articolo 31, the hip hop duo consisting of rapper J-Ax (Alessandro Aleotti) and producer DJ Jad (Luca Perrini), emerged as one of Italy's most influential music acts after forming in 1990 in Milan. Originally set to be named "Articolo 41" after a law allowing exemption from military service due to nervous disorders, they changed it to "Articolo 31" on a professor's advice. Their debut single "Nato per rappare" released in 1992 marked the beginning of a successful career highlighted by albums like “Messa di Vespiri” and “Domani Smetto.”

In 2006, Articolo 31 split to pursue solo careers, but reunited in 2018 for J-Ax's 25th anniversary celebration and a subsequent sold-out tour. The duo, revered for achieving a diamond-selling record status, announced their participation in the 73rd edition of the Sanremo Music Festival in 2023 with the track “Un bel viaggio.”
