Antonio Vega, renowned as one of the top Spanish pop/rock songwriters of his time, gained fame in the 1980s with the band Nacha Pop before a successful solo career in the '90s. Born in Madrid on December 16, 1957, he formed Nacha Pop in 1978 with cousin Nacho García Vega, releasing hits like "La Chica de Ayer." After the band's breakup in 1988, Vega pursued a solo path, delivering albums like No Me Iré Mañana (1991) and 3000 Noches con Marga (2005). Tragically, he passed away from lung cancer on May 12, 2009, at 51, leaving a legacy of influential music that resonated in the Spanish pop/rock scene.
