Biography

Anthrax played a significant role in the development of speed and thrash metal alongside Metallica and Megadeth. Formed in the early '80s, the band's blend of hardcore punk and heavy metal on early albums helped define a new subgenre. Through lineup changes and label challenges, Anthrax continued to evolve their sound, incorporating elements of hip-hop and maintaining a balance of humor and seriousness in their music.
