After departing from indie band the Wild Colonials, Scottish singer Angela McCluskey released her solo debut album, THE THINGS WE DO, produced by Nathan Larson in 2004. Her collaboration with electro-pop group Telepopmusik on the track "Breathe" became a surprise hit that year, propelled by its use in a popular television commercial. McCluskey's vibrant pop sound, contrasting with her smoky vocals likened to Beth Orton's, diverges from the darker, jazz-influenced trip-hop style often associated with Orton.
