Alien Sex Fiend

Alien Sex Fiend, pioneers of goth rock and known for their theatrical and humorous approach, blend electronic beats, noisy guitars, and dubby effects to create a unique sound that defies genre categorization. Originating from London's Batcave club in 1982, the band, led by Nik Fiend and Christine Wade, gained notoriety with hits like "Ignore the Machine" and "R.I.P." Their experimental nature led them to incorporate electronic dance music styles, culminating in albums like Inferno (The Odyssey Continues) in the '90s and Possessed in 2018.

Throughout the '80s and '90s, Alien Sex Fiend's lineup evolved, leading to a more synth-oriented sound with releases like Curse and Another Planet. Their exploration into electronic music continued with albums like Nocturnal Emissions in 1997 and Evolution in 1996. Despite personal setbacks, the band persevered, releasing albums like Information Overload in 2004 and Death Trip in 2010. Cherry Red Records honored their legacy with box sets and compilations, with Possessed marking their return to the studio in 2018.
