Alberto Barros

Alberto Barros, born in Barranquilla, Colombia, was raised in a musical family under the guidance of his father, renowned composer José Benito Barros. Beginning formal music studies at age 14, Barros later earned the title "El Titán de la Salsa" for his Grammy-winning talents as a trombonist, vocalist, composer, and arranger.

In 1982, Barros founded the award-winning orchestra Los Titanes, which quickly gained fame with hits like "La Palomita," "Sobredosis de Amor," and "Por Retenerte." His reputation as a musical director grew, leading Los Titanes to become one of Colombia's top salsa groups in the 1990s. Over the years, Barros has made significant contributions to the Latin music scene, collaborating with artists such as Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and Gloria Trevi, and earning accolades including a Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album in 2017 for "Tributo a la Salsa Colombiana, Vol. 7."
