Ala Jaza, born Enmanuel Jiménez in Santo Domingo, is a Dominican singer, songwriter, and producer known for pioneering the urban merengue style MamWali that blends merengue and trap music. Raised in Jarabacoa, he began his music career playing bass in New York before transitioning to composing and engineering for various artists, eventually signing with Sony Music as part of the group Optimo. Jaza later embarked on a solo career, releasing hit singles like "Vamo a Maja Cocao" and "Banda," leading to mainstream success with chart-topping tracks such as "Mi Forma de Ser" and "Nadie Se Meta."
