Al Wilson

Al Wilson, known for his chart-topping hit "Show and Tell," was born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1939. He began singing professionally at a young age, eventually touring with various groups before signing with Johnny Rivers' Soul City label. Wilson experienced success with hits like "The Snake" and "The La La Peace Song," but his biggest hit came in 1973 with "Show and Tell," which sold over a million copies. Despite a decline in chart success in later years, he continued to perform live and released a re-recorded collection of his hits in 2001 before passing away in 2008 from kidney failure.
