Adema, a post-grunge, alternative metal band with heavy electronica influences, formed in 1998 in Bakersfield. The original lineup of Dave DeRoo, Kris Kohls, Mike Ransom, Tim Fluckey, and Mark Chavez released albums Adema, Unstable, and EP InsomniacΓÇÖs Dream, sharing stages with major rock acts. Post-Unstable, the band faced challenges with the departures of Chavez and Ransom, but continued to tour and release music, securing a second record deal with Earache Records for albums Planets and Kill the Headlights, plus EP Topple the Giants.
In 2010, Adema reunited with their original lineup, later continuing with Kris Kohls, Dave DeRoo, and Ryan Shuck replacing Chavez. The band embarked on a successful tour in 2019, proving their ongoing relevance. Currently, Adema is preparing to release their single and music video "Ready To Die" in August 2021, followed by a major North American tour in September.
