Biography

Ace of Base, a Swedish quartet consisting of vocalists Jenny Berggren, Malin "Linn" Berggren, and musicians Jonas "Joker" Berggren and Ulf "Buddah" Ekberg, gained international fame with their 1993 debut album, "Happy Nation," known as "The Sign" in the U.S. The album sold over 25 million copies and produced hit singles like "All That She Wants," "Don't Turn Around," and "The Sign," which topped the U.S. charts for six weeks. They were among the most successful Swedish bands, following ABBA and Roxette. Their second album, "The Bridge," released in 1995, achieved platinum status within six months.

After a hiatus, Ace of Base returned with the album "Cruel Summer" (titled "Flowers" in Europe) in 1998, marking the last studio album with the Berggren sisters. Jonas Berggren and Ulf Ekberg continued the group with new vocalists Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson, releasing the album "The Golden Ratio" in 2010. In 2014, remastered versions of the original group's albums were released, along with a compilation of demos and B-sides titled "Hidden Gems" in 2015.
