Biography

Atlanta-based rapper Yung Mal rose to prominence in the late 2010s with a series of mixtapes alongside Lil Quill, leading to a record deal with Gucci Mane's 1017 in late 2017. Known for his rapid-fire, street-level trap style, Yung Mal collaborated with Atlanta artists like Lil Baby and Gunna before venturing into solo work with his debut album, Iceburg.

Originally from New Orleans and later relocating to Atlanta, Yung Mal began his music career by writing bars to popular beats before transitioning to creating his own material. Teaming up with Lil Quill, the duo released mixtapes such as Blessed Lil Bastards and Blessed Lil Bastards 2, showcasing their trap roots and attracting the attention of Gucci Mane. After joining the 1017 label, Yung Mal continued to release music, culminating in his solo debut album in 2019, featuring collaborations with notable artists from the Atlanta scene.
