YBS Skola, also known as Dajuan Cannady, is a Baltimore rapper who gained recognition for his club-friendly, motivational tracks. Raised in Edmondson Village on the west side of the city, Skola is a member of the YBS crew, founded by the late Lor Scoota. Encouraged by his family and peers, he entered the rap scene in early 2016 with his debut album, "No Pen Just Paper," featuring the single "Whole Lotta Money." Following the tragic deaths of Lor Scoota and his manager Trayvon "Truz" Lee, Skola emerged as the primary artist on the YBS roster, re-releasing his debut as "No Pen Just Paper Reloaded" in honor of Scoota. In 2017, he released his mixtape "Only Hope," collaborating with artists like Shy Glizzy and Don Q.
Skola's music reflects the urban landscape of Baltimore, blending gritty street narratives with messages of hope and social progress. With his distinct Baltimore-accented flow, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the local rap scene, showcasing his talents through various collaborations and projects.
