Yago Oproprio, born in the East Zone of São Paulo in Cohab II, is influenced by the local music scene. Growing up attending the Casa de Dolores sarau in Jardim Triana, he was exposed to various popular artists, shaping the intense poetry of his lyrics. Living with his grandparents for a period provided him with insight into the culture of São Paulo's interiors. Moving to Caracas, Venezuela as a child, he learned Spanish and discovered music from artists like Calle 13 and Orishas, influencing the Latin sound present in his creations.
Returning to Brazil and settling in Cohab 1, Artur Alvim, Yago immersed himself in the local funk and national rap scene, drawing inspiration from artists like Sabotage and Racionais. Engaging with community politics and street culture, he navigated through different neighborhoods, blending urban poetry with a variety of musical influences. Yago Oproprio's artistic journey reflects a fusion of street culture and periphery, embracing dialogue with people and cities while staying true to his roots.
