Biography

Ayaka, a talented singer and songwriter, dedicated her teenage years to honing her craft under the mentorship of former music producer Yoshihiko Nishio in Fukuoka. In 2005, Ayaka garnered attention when Warner Music Group chairman Lyor Cohen praised her as having the potential to be "world class." Her single "I Believe," featured as the theme song for the Japanese TV drama Rondo, became her first million-selling hit. The following year, in 2006, she received the Best New Artist award at the Japan Record Awards. Notably, in 2015, Ayaka made history as the first Japanese artist to record and release an iTunes Session. In 2020, she collaborated with Daichi Miura on the duet "Negaiboshi," engaging fans by incorporating their thoughts, photos, and voices into the song's lyrics and accompanying music video.
