Biography
Bassist Kip Winger, known for his tenure in Alice Cooper's band, founded his own group in 1986 with guitarist Reb Beach, bassist Paul Taylor, and drummer Rod Morgenstein. Initially named Sahara, the band changed to Winger and gained popularity for their pop-metal sound akin to bands like Bon Jovi and Poison. Their self-titled debut album in 1988, featuring hits like "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak," sold over a million copies, followed by the successful 1990 release "In the Heart of the Young" with the hit ballad "Miles Away." Despite the decline of pop-metal, the band continued until 1993's "Pull" before disbanding. Kip Winger pursued a solo career before reuniting with Winger in 2002, releasing albums like "IV" in 2006 and "Better Days Comin'" in 2014.
Following his time in Alice Cooper's band, Kip Winger formed his own group in 1986, known as Winger, which achieved success with their pop-metal style reminiscent of Bon Jovi and Poison. Their debut and sophomore albums, released in 1988 and 1990 respectively, each sold over a million copies and spawned hit singles such as "Seventeen" and "Miles Away." Despite the waning popularity of pop-metal in the '90s, Winger continued until 1993 and later regrouped in 2002 for new albums like "IV" in 2006 and "Better Days Comin'" in 2014. Kip Winger also pursued a solo career during this period, marking a significant chapter in his musical journey.
