Webster "Webbie" Gradney, Jr., a Baton Rouge native, developed his brash and street-smart style influenced by early No Limit and Cash Money releases, as well as West Coast artists like Snoop Dogg and Eazy-E. Despite facing personal challenges, including his mother's death when he was eight, Webbie found solace in rebellious music from artists like Master P, Eightball & MJG, and UGK. Recognizing the impact of Dirty South legends, Webbie honed his rap skills and signed with Pimp C's Trill Entertainment at a young age, releasing albums like Ghetto Stories and Gangsta Muzik with Lil Boosie.

Webbie's career continued to flourish with solo tracks like "Gimme Dat" and "Bad Bitch" gaining traction on mixtapes. His debut album, Savage Life, released in 2005 under Trill Entertainment and Atlantic Records, marked the beginning of a successful series. Subsequent albums, collaborations with Lil Boosie, and the release of Savage Life V in 2016, featuring the single "Problems" with Boosie Badazz, solidified Webbie's presence in the hip-hop scene.
