Collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Gulzar on various projects, including The Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland, Bhardwaj's music style is known for its simple melodies and poetic lyrics. His work on the film Maachis earned him a Filmfare Award in 1996, marking the beginning of his successful career in composing music for films like Satya, Hu Tu Tu, and Chachi 420. Bhardwaj's music for Godmother also received critical acclaim, winning the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.
