Biography
Vinod Rathod, the playback singer, was born on September 12, 1962, in Mumbai, India. Son of classical musician Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod, he gained recognition in 1986 when Bollywood music director Usha Khanna discovered him through a demo cassette and invited him to record a qawwali. Rathod transitioned to playback singing the same year with his debut in "Mere Dil Main Hai Andhera" from the movie Bedaag. Throughout his career, he has recorded over 3500 songs in various languages, including Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bengali, Oriya, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Persian. Rathod has received two nominations for Best Playback Singer at the Filmfare Awards.
In 1992, Rathod rose to prominence with his performance of "Romeo Naam Mera" from Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, which became a widely popular song. Following this success, he became a sought-after playback vocalist, recording hit songs like "Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main" and "Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai" from Khalnayak (1993), "Chamma" from China Gate (1998), and "Dil Hai Deewana" from Annarth (2002).
