Vicente Fernández, born February 17, 1940 in Huentitan el Alto, Guadalajara, Mexico, rose to fame as a prominent Mexican singer and actor. Despite early struggles, he gained recognition in the music industry in the mid-'60s, eventually becoming known as "The King of Ranchera." Fernández's career peaked in the 1970s with hits like "Volver, Volver," propelling him to international fame. He sold over 70 million albums, won numerous industry awards, and performed to sold-out audiences across the Americas and Europe.

Fernández's musical legacy continued with successful albums like 2007's "Para Siempre" and a string of Latin Grammy wins. He retired from touring but remained active in the studio, releasing his final album, "A Mis 80s," in 2020. Tragically, his health declined in 2021, leading to his passing on December 12 at the age of 81. A revered figure in Mexican music, Fernández's impact on the genre and his enduring popularity were celebrated in a memorial event in Guadalajara.
