Vald

French rapper Valentin Le Du, known as Vald, was born on July 15, 1992. He discovered rap as a teenager after obtaining a high school degree in science. Drawing inspiration from conspiracy theories and horror films, Vald began his music career at 17 and released his debut mixtape, NQNTMQMQMB, in 2012, followed by an EP titled NQNT in 2014. His breakout moment came with the release of his studio debut, Agartha, in 2017 under Capitol Records, which quickly achieved double-platinum certification in France. Vald's subsequent albums, XEU (2018) and Ce Monde Est Cruel (2019), also reached Number 1 on the French charts. In 2020, he collaborated with Heuss l’Enfoiré on the album Horizontal Vertical, and in 2022, Vald released his third chart-topping album, V, featuring the hit song "Peon" with Orelsan.

Vald's music is characterized by comedic lyrical content and has been influenced by artists like Alkpote and Sexion d’Assaut. Alongside his music career, Vald pursued studies in medicine and Mathematics/Information, eventually founding his own record label, Echelon Music. With a string of successful albums and collaborations, Vald has solidified his position as a prominent figure in French hip-hop, consistently achieving commercial success and critical acclaim.
