Ulrika Spacek is a British experimental rock band from London, known for their hypnotic blend of jagged guitar textures and dreamlike atmospherics. There’s a strange comfort in Ulrika Spacek’s dissonance, since emerging from the shadows of a creaking East London house known only as “KEN,” the band has quietly built a reputation for turning existential inertia into sound.
Formed in 2014 by Rhys Edwards and Rhys Williams, Ulrika Spacek began as an insular project and has remained defiantly self-contained with the addition of Joseph Stone, Callum Brown, Syd Kemp and Rhys Jenkins.

Debut album The Album Paranoia (2016) introduced listeners to a meticulously crafted world of off-kilter melodies and enveloping drones. It was followed by Modern English Decoration (2017), a critically acclaimed second LP that pushed their sound into more refined and textural territory. After a period of near-silence, they returned in 2024 with Compact Trauma, an album that channeled the anxiety and dislocation of the modern age through a prismatic haze of guitars, loops, and elliptical lyrics. The music lives in the liminal space between introspection and abrasion, the melodic and the abstract.
