twlv is a 29-year-old Seoul-based singer-songwriter. Known for his distinctive R&B sound reminiscent of The Weeknd, Chris Brown and Usher, the Busan-native is striving to bring western pop R&B to the Korean music scene. In the earlier days of his career, the South Korean singer-songwriter quickly gained a following on SoundCloud after releasing his underground hit ‘CRZY’ featuring Changmo. Following up, he made his first mainstream television appearance on The Fan, a Korean R&B/ballad competition show. Quickly after making a lasting impression on the public, he signed with Yng & Rich Records, a Korean hip-hop record label founded by Superbee. During his time at the label, twlv primarily released commercial hip hop hits in Korea with his labelmates, the R&B prospect released his debut full-length album ‘K.I.S.S’ in 2020.

His follow-up second album ‘Neo Soul’, released in 2022, is his most representative work of his musical identity yet. The album was an unprecedented fresh take on Korean R&B with heavy influences from western R&B and pop. While aware of his R&B roots, twlv is still an unpredictable and adventurous artist. Later in 2022, he released ‘YDP’, a fully self-produced project that encapsulated his hip-hop persona. Currently, twlv is slowly gearing up for ‘Diminished’ which will solidify his identity and showcase his versatility as a multi-talented artist who can not only perfect the dark R&B sound but also experiment with brighter and bouncy tunes.
