Biography
The Dynamics story began in the early 2000s, on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse hill in Lyon. The group was formed through chance encounters, usually at night, during smoky evenings, musical and cosmopolitan parties, around a shared passion for all kinds of music, especially those that bring people together and shake their souls as much as their feet: Soul, Funk, Rhythm'n'Blues, Disco, Dub, Rock'n'Roll, Reggae... This unlikely assemblage of musicians, producers, DJs, singers and personalities from a wide range of musical backgrounds and geographical origins decided to take to the stage at private parties as a vocal trio accompanied by an initially rudimentary sound system.
Inspired by the compilations released by London's Soul Jazz Records at the time, reflecting the fascination of American soul with Jamaican music, they produced their first single on label Favorite Recordings. Their versions of Curtis Mayfield's Move On Up and the White Stripes' Seven Nation Army were a big hit and won them immediate international recognition. Other singles on 45s followed and continued to circulate among DJs, defining the group's signature style and sound.Version ExcursionsIn 2007, the German label Groove Attack released their first album Version Excursions, contributing to the group's international reputation.
