Biography

The Animals, a British band formed in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1963, rose to fame aligning themselves with blues music. Their breakthrough single, "House of the Rising Sun," showcased their intense style. The original lineup disbanded in 1966, with vocalist Eric Burdon leading subsequent incarnations of the group. They released albums that explored psychedelic and social commentary themes before disbanding in the late 1960s.

In 1975, the original Animals lineup reunited to release the album "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted." They briefly toured before disbanding again in 1976. Subsequent albums and tours followed, with various members forming different versions of the band. The original Animals lineup was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Members of the band have since passed away, leaving a legacy in the history of British rock music.
