Terry Apala

Terry Apala, born Terry Alexander Ejeh, is a Nigerian musician renowned for his unique blend of
Apala (a traditional Yoruba music genre) with contemporary Afrobeats and Hip-Hop. He calls this
fusion "Apala Fusion," and it has earned him a distinct place in the Nigerian music scene.

Growing up in Lagos, Terry Apala was exposed to the rich tapestry of Nigerian music from a
young age. He was particularly drawn to the rhythmic and percussive sounds of Apala music, a
style traditionally associated with the Yoruba people. His early passion for music led him to start
his journey as a drummer and guitarist in his church.

Terry Apala's music is characterised by his ability to seamlessly blend traditional Apala elements with contemporary sounds, creating a fresh and exciting musical experience. His deep, resonant voice adds another layer of uniqueness to his music.

He draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, including the legendary Apala
musician Haruna Ishola and his son Musiliu-Haruna Ishola, as well as modern Afrobeats and
Hip-Hop artists.
