Szymon Borzestowski, a talented but troubled musician with a honeyed falsetto and pure pop acumen, blended folk, pop, and electronica in a captivating way. Born in 1989 in Newcastle, Australia, to Polish immigrants, Szymon was raised in a musically inclined household, mastering multiple instruments and audio production. Despite initial struggles in securing interest, a serendipitous encounter with an EMI talent scout eventually led to a development deal for his debut album. However, plagued by depression-induced breakdowns and doubts about his music, Szymon tragically took his own life in 2012 at the age of 23. With the support of his family, producers Rusty Santos and Ian Pritchett mixed his songs posthumously, resulting in the release of Tigersapp in 2015.
