Biography
Formed in Tucson, Arizona in 1988, the Supersuckers emerged as a standout alternative rock band that blended arena-ready hard rock with punk influences. Signed to Sub Pop, their early albums like 1994's La Mano Cornuda and 1995's The Sacrilicious Sounds of the Supersuckers showcased their distinctive sound, while a detour into country music with 1997's Must've Been High demonstrated their versatility. Despite a brief major-label stint with Interscope, the band returned to their roots with releases like 1999's The Evil Powers of Rock 'n' Roll and continued to evolve with albums such as 2008's Get It Together.
Following lineup changes and personal challenges, including frontman Eddie Spaghetti's battle with cancer, the Supersuckers persevered to release new music. Their 2015 album Holdin' the Bag marked a new chapter with a country-leaning sound and a revised lineup. The band's resilience and commitment to their hard rock roots remained evident on subsequent releases like 2018's Suck It and 2020's Play That Rock N' Roll, which showcased their enduring energy and passion for music. Tragically, original guitarist Ron Heathman passed away in 2020, but the Supersuckers continue to honor their legacy through their music.
