Superfruit, the musical duo consisting of Pentatonix's Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying, originated as a YouTube channel in August 2013, showcasing a mix of gay-friendly content including vlogs, sketches, and music. Their transition to releasing original music began in 2016 with singles like "Bad 4 Us" and "Sweet Life," leading to collaborations with artists such as Betty Who and Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix. In 2017, Superfruit released their debut album as two EPs, Future Friends: Part One and Future Friends: Part Two, featuring contributions from Danny L. Harle and Caroline Polachek.

The duo's innovative sound and inclusive approach to their content have garnered them hundreds of millions of views on their channel, establishing them as a prominent presence in the music industry.
