Sukhwinder Singh is a prominent Indian playback singer known for his work in over 400 films across various languages including Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. His breakout hit, "Chaiyya Chaiyya," gained popularity after its inclusion in the 1998 Bollywood film Dil Se and its soundtrack, which sold over six million copies in India. Singh received Best Male Playback Singer awards at the 1999 Filmfare and Star Screen awards ceremonies. He notably contributed vocals to the Oscar-winning song "Jai Ho" from the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. In 2010, Singh's collaborative single "Marjaani" with musician Pritam and singer Sunidhi Chauhan reached the Top 10 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. He was featured on Australian rapper Iggy Azalea's 2014 track "Million Dollar Dream" from the film Million Dollar Arm. Singh's song "Bismil" from the movie Haider earned him the Best Male Playback Singer award at the 2015 National Film Awards.
