Sugarcult

Formed in 1998 in Santa Barbara, CA, Sugarcult is an alternative rock quartet consisting of singer/guitarist Tim Pagnotta, guitarist Marko DeSantis, bassist Airin Older, and original drummer Ben Davis (later replaced by Kenny Livingston). Their debut album, Start Static, released in 2001, featured hits like "Stuck in America" and "Bouncing Off the Walls." The band gained popularity after an extended stint on the Warped Tour and continued to release successful albums like Palm Trees and Power Lines in 2004, which reached number one on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. Sugarcult further solidified their presence in the music scene with live releases and performances at major festivals before releasing their most focused effort, Lights Out, in September 2006.

Inspired by their lesbian neighbors' moniker, Sugarcult quickly made a name for themselves in the alternative rock scene with energetic performances and catchy songs. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of Marko DeSantis and saw success with their debut album and subsequent releases. Sugarcult's relentless touring schedule and impressive live performances earned them opportunities to support major acts like Green Day and headline renowned music festivals. With Lights Out in 2006, Sugarcult showcased their growth and maturity as a band, cementing their status as a prominent force in alternative rock music.
