Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan, born in Dallas, Texas, emerged as a prominent electric blues artist of the '80s, drawing influence from blues and rock legends like Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, and Muddy Waters. Vaughan's band, Double Trouble, gained popularity in Texas during the '70s before catching the attention of David Bowie and Jackson Browne, leading to a record deal with Epic Records. His debut album, "Texas Flood," released in 1983, marked a significant success in both blues and rock circles.

Despite his musical achievements, Vaughan battled alcoholism and drug addiction, leading to periods of inactivity and rehabilitation. His fourth album, "In Step," released in 1989, became his most successful work, earning critical acclaim and a Grammy award. Tragically, Vaughan's career was cut short when he died in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35.
