Max Cavalera has been a force in metal music since the 1980s, founding the influential Brazilian thrash band Sepultura before leading Soulfly, a band known for blending multiple metal subgenres with worldbeat influences. Soulfly's self-titled debut in 1998 was certified gold, paving the way for acclaimed albums like Conquer, Archangel, Ritual, and Totem.
